public servers, where to find good binaries ones?

Post by bassie »

I want to use public servers.

On the internet they are easy to find, however the good ones i cannot find.

I kindly request users of newspro if they could give some very well servers for binary data, or they could give some addresses of good pages to fill in newspro.

Until now, i only find very bad public servers for binary data, and also i have problems finding good webpages for them.

I only use free servers.. I use biggulp.readfreenews.net and have accounts on news.astraweb.com, news.bubbanews.com, free.teranews.com and usenet.newscene.com. I also use some text servers that have binaries you can only access with message id direct.. news.freenet.de etc. I use the NewsPro function to find free servers on a weekly basis as well to find new ones..

Oh sorry, I just learned from reading alt.free.newsservers that astraweb is no longer offering free accounts. :(

Ok, thanks, I know more and will have to test all the options.

I am experimenting with "news hunter", I found the link in the newsgroup
proposed by you.

Not an easy program, but i guess there will be more programs like that.
It searches for servers (not sure if they are all public) when I give the name of the newsgroup I want to use.
