Creating Folders In Auto Mode

Post by Invader »

Well Done Alex, I'm loving this feature. :D But...

When In Saving (Auto Folder create) it happens to be truncating the header short. eg.

This is the main header:-
REQ: Power of Scotland, here is Girls Aloud - Chemistry - File 15 of 21 - yEnc "Girls_Aloud-Chemistry-2005.vol00+01.PAR2" 347584 bytes (1/1)

Truncated to (not always the same amount of characters):-
REQ Power of Scotland, here is Girls Al

When using manual auto save (so you can edit the filename) truncated too:-
REQ Power of Scotland, here is Girls Aloud - Chemistry - File 15 of 21 - yEnc 'Girls_Alou

When you make your own folder using New from the context menu then paste the name you get:-
REQ Power of Scotland, here is Girls Aloud - Chemistry - File 15 of 21 - yEnc Girls_Aloud-Chemistry-2005.vol00+01.PAR2 347584 bytes (11)

Any thoughts as to why it's truncating the main header so much ??

PS. This feature is Cool 8)

try to use a shorter save path (put your download folder as high as possible). also you can uncheck properties->articles, prepend view name.

windows is lacking any sense when it comes to naming files, the maximal path including the file name is 260 characters and many useful characters are illegal (like " / : ? etc., you know).

i could add also options so how much to trim is set by user (now it is 110 characters for path to leave space for file name and 90 for the new folder prompt.

Oh, yes please alex ..

and your prepend name was a nice touch also. ( I had switched it off in the above examples )

This feature has saved me tremendous amounts of time typing.

I would ideally like the FULL header to display as:- (like you say minus the special characters)
REQ Power of Scotland, here is Girls Aloud - Chemistry - File 15 of 21 - yEnc Girls_Aloud-Chemistry-2005.vol00+01.PAR2 347584 bytes (11)

I do understand it's out of your control if it reaches 255+ characters it WILL cut it off, thats fine by me
