I propose adding the most often used lengths (probably 10, 20 and 30 minutes) to the right-click in the taskbar. For all other options, I would not mind the extra steps of the maximising to minimising steps. This would give the context menu of:
- Icon in system tray
Show/Hide [dblclick]
Pause tasks
Pause tasks [10 minutes]
Pause tasks [20 minutes]
Pause tasks [30 minutes]
Exit Usenet Explorer
Now that I've actually made this post (I've been thinking of requesting these things for a while now), I'd like to see a further tweak to the remaining time calculation. By this I mean that if I've paused articles (right-clicked articles to manually pause a selected few), I'd like to see the remain time for only the unpaused articles in the queue. This would be useful in situations where, for example, I've queued up a large PAR set accompanying a set of RARs. I might not need all the PARs so I could pause them in the queue. However, I'd only really need to know how long till the RARs are due to be completed. Then all I'd have left to do would be to cancel the PARs. Of course, if you build into UE a function whereby UE automatically verifies and downloads additional PARs as needed (

It would still be useful in situations where I absolutely must have something downloading right away. Sometimes priorities in the queue can't work. For example, I queue up 2 DVDs. One is available on my ISP server, another on a pay server. I might want the one that's only on my pay server first - no matter what and as soon as possible and also with the remain time telling me how long is left. However, the other DVD is also downloading from my ISP at the same time, thereby hogging too much bandwidth. My ISP server is extremely fast so in these situations I might end up still waiting for the preferred DVD from my pay server long after my ISP has finished downloading. I realise there are ways to achieve this but things like changing the amount of download threads can be a hassle.
P.S. Sometimes once I start typing I just can't seem to stop myself.
