Alex,
I completed the Contact Form requesting my Serial Number be sent again as it was on my external HDD and that is now not working now.
I'm posting here just in case the messege from the Contact Form doesn't reach you.
Regards,
E

Trouble Downloading Headers - Help!!
I got around to upgrading to the most updated version of UE yesterday. I went to download a few headers and threads yesterday at around 6pm and nothing happened; they stayed there in my Import tab. So I highlight all the headers and threads and repeated my usual process. . .I’m not a newbie I know h...

I've spoken with my ISP and they operate a Fair Usage Policy which kinda sucks . . . Fair Usage Policy The Pipex Homecall Fair Usage Policy is designed to make sure your broadband service is quick and reliable whenever you use it. Last night I was averaging 250 KB/S but tonight I’m averaging 25 KB/S. What would account for such a difference in download speeds? I’ve got to say it’s really annoying! I’ve unchecked the Port protection 443 within my Kaspersky Antivirus software. With U.E. my Max Tasks is set to 8 as that’s how ma...

nyquil67, Thanks for the advice! I switched to Port 443 initally but reverted back to Port 119 after I found out it was Kaspersky that was giving me problems and not my ISP. I had great downloading speeds with Port 119 but I did notice that it would drop to 45 KB/S for awhile during a download sessi...

I’m back . . . . . LOL My problem was my anti-virus – Kaspersky. I’d never heard of Ports in my life until Jaapf said to disable a certain Port within my anti-virus settings. I’ve changed back to server 119 and disabled that Port within Kaspersky. My Bandwidth is now stable. It averages about 200 – ...

Jaapf, It’s good that you’ve had experience with Kaspersky so you can help me out here. On Usenet-Explorer, I changed my port from 119 to 443; this made a difference to my download speed. From your post, if understand correctly, I need to disable the scanning option for port 443 not 119 (because 443...

Thanks once again! I’ve made the changes: I changed Total Tasks to 50 (not 40) and changed Max Tasks to 8 and I switched off/on my router; after all that I noticed I was still having the same problem. I turned of my Anti-Virus and my Spyware / Firewall and its working fine. Now my Bandwidth is betwe...

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have two such programmes running: Anti-Virus - Kaspersky Spyware (plus it acts as a Network and Program Firewall) - Zone Alarm I thought it might be these so I turned them off for a one minute only but the same Bandwidth cycle kept happening. Should I turn them off compl...

My Bandwidth Is Having A N.D.E.
Hey Guys! First of all, I’m sort of a newbie to Newsgroups. For the past few months I’ve been using the News Reader Grabbit. I mastered that and I understood how it worked. I was reading on the Net about the different News Readers and Usenet Explorer proved to be popular; I bought the software and d...
