Re: Having a problem using the password list feature for unr
I split the list into multiple files, and used a script to generate them for me. Each individual file has about 30 passwords, I group-select the archives with passwords in that file and select that file, and I'm getting much better results. Most of them unpack just fine, but I occasionally still get...

Having a problem using the password list feature for unrar
I download a number of rar archives whose passwords fit a pattern. Rather than type the password manually for each archive, I've procedurally generated a list of all the possible passwords. However, when I tell the archive to use the password list to find the right one, I end up getting "Unrar:...

Possible to run UE on two computers off the same database?
I currently run Usenet Explorer off a machine that I don't usually access locally, I VNC into it. And that's fine, but it's also not as powerful as the machine I'm normally sitting at. If it set the location of UE on that machine up as a network share, could I run it off my primary computer using th...

Re: Question about tracking of deleted headers in compact bi
Watch filters. I know I can manually apply them to the folder I'm working in, then download & save, but I use quite a few Watch filters on this particular folder, going through each of them manually would be time consuming. I normally have them set up to automatically be run on that folder as ne...

Re: Max nr of headers/Gbyte ram?
I'm running the 64bit version and my header storage seems to be limited to around 2GB. More than that and it suspends header tasks. Is there a setting I need to change?alex wrote:nothing special around 2GB.
for 64 bit version UE can allocate up to 8GB as header storage.

Re: Question about tracking of deleted headers in compact bi
If I reset the header ranges, and then to a "Get New Headers" for those newsgroups, what happens with the undeleted headers that were there before the reset? Specifically, is there any way to have those headers run through Watch filters that were not in place the first time they were downl...

Re: Question about tracking of deleted headers in compact bi
so resetting the newsgroups also resets the headers marked deleted so they all come back like new? Do compact binary groups care about the "track deleted for XX days" setting?

Question about tracking of deleted headers in compact binary
I recently suffered a serious data loss so I have to go back on Usenet and re-download a whole bunch of stuff. I intend to simply reset the database in Usenet Explorer and start from scratch, so my various Watch Filters can catch everything. How do I make sure that it also resets which headers it co...

Looks like that fixed things, my copy now says v3.1.1b. Thanks!

Is there a problem with the current x64 download(v3.1.1)?
I'm currently running UE 3.1 64-bit on Vista x64, and it's prompting me to download 3.1.1, only when I do and the new file tries to start, I get an error about it not being a valid Win32 application. This happens whether I do the download from within UE or whether I download manually. Is anyone else...

ok i got test account and tested it. as i expected the result is the same with SSL and non-SSL in both cases server stops transmitting data near the end of xover data it doesn't reach the end. it means probably zlib deflate is not called with Z_FINISH flag, some buggy version which cannot work with...

then better use 2.4.9 (check release notes), but the best is v2.5. why you don't want to check it with easynews support? i mean why to use a buggy server when you are the customer and can have it resolved or you and all other easynews users? I did check with Easynews support, but I didn't know whet...

If I use the non-SSL server, checking the xzver option doesn't cause a problem, but I get no compression. Checking it with the SSL server causes connection problems. Leaving it unchecked with the SSL server gives me working connections and zlib compression. So it seems clear that the SSL Easynews se...

Problem with Easynews & xzver/xzhdr compression enabled
I currently use UE to connect to both news.astraweb.com and secure.news.us.easynews.com via SSL. Astraweb supports xzver/xzhrd compression, but for some reason seems to have zlib compression disabled. Easynews uses zlib, but doesn't appear to support xzver/xzhdr. No problem, UE is supposed to autode...
