Header properties in xpat groups
Everything is all good with NG's within folders. However, I can not see Properties>Newsgroup locations for XPAT search results contained within folders.
Thanks Alex....

properties only show in which newsgroups and search groups the header resides, i.e. you open the newsgroup - you'll find the header there - it was specifically downloaded while downloading headers for this newsgroup. folders are just an abstraction, it would be easy to add to show the folder names (e.g. in the form alt.binaries.aviation [Aviation] - the folder name in brackets after the newsgroup name).
for search groups newspro doesn't keep info from which newsgroups (I mean newsgroups in the xpat dialog) its headers were retrieved since it would require indexing not only subscribed newsgroups but many more, additional extensive bookkeeping only to show user the newsgroups although it is not a problem to download articles from the search group directly and check the newsgroups header. still if a header in a xpat group is among headers in other groups it will show the groups in properties. i'm considering eventually adding the bookkeeping but for now there are more important things to implement first.

Your right....the new version you just release does not show the subfolder under Newsgroup, just the name of the search.
I am confused. I did an xpat search on a bunch of newsgroups. I open the XPAT group with the results of the search. I click a header, bring up Properties and under the Newsgroup heading in the information window is the name of the XPAT group. There is nothing related to which groups that header was found in.

it could show open folders previously but it wasn't right (the right approach would be to show the folders in brackets based on what folder the newsgroup belongs to and not whether it is somewhere among open folders).
you see the header only in the xpat group because the header is not among downloaded headers in other newsgroups, just newspro only tells what it knows/keeps/'remembers' about the header. all what it has in its disposal is newsgroup indices, it just looks into the indices and brings up the groups where the header was found, it might be different from what you would see if you download it and check its 'newsgroups' header field. the explanation was given in my first reply above, in short adding more would enhance the program rather as an information tool than as a downloading tool, and here arises the question about priorities.

yes, just the feature evolved from usual newsgroups (as you can guess) so i pursued the practical goals first.
the logic is also if you are interested in something - you just download it. you can doubleclick the task bar in the task manager or the header as soon as the download started and it will show you the article headers with the newsgroups field. anything you download will be reused then if you download headers directly along the rest of bodies from the newsgroups.
for crossposted messages you may not have the full information in any case, so you would need to download the article headers anyway, i would say it could be improved with introducing additional space overhead not related to downloading.
