Hello Bits and Bytes crawlers
I am thinking to buy Usenet Explorer because the options you can use is so much more as other usenet clients.
Because Usenet Explorer has a 15 days trial and I think that to short to try this out because the unlimited options that the explorer has.
Before I buy this product I want to know 2 things.
-Is it possible that I can configure Usenet Explorer so that the nfo files will be automatically downloaded and saved in a submap?
- When the NFO files are downloaded and saved I want Usenet Explorer automatically look again for newer NFO files and download and save these files again en so on once an hour?
If I can realize this in Usenet Explorer then I am going to buy this product an will learn the ins and outs of this product!!!!
Best regards
Martijn
I want to know 2 things about UE! Please hlp
you need to add a filter like "*.nfo" in edit menu->filter editor name it somehow e.g. NFO and then to add the filter in edit menu->properties->auto/watch (if for all newsgroups - the topmost "newsgroups" entry), then check "watch", "save" in the bottom while the topmost entry is selected.
in selected topics on www.usenetexplorer.com read the "filters, filter editor and watch" topic with more details.

Alex,
This is another problem that many people have brought to my attention. 15 days is way too short of a period of time to begin to figure out how to even operate Usenet Explorer at a newbie level let alone figure out a fraction of the advanced features. Alex I love Usenet Explorer and us it everyday but I had already been through the "boot camp" (A military indoctrination/orientation period) experiences so learning Usenet Explorer was a relatively easy move up from NewsPro for me. Usenet Explorer really needs at least a 60 day or better yet a 90 day trial period because the complexity of the program does not give most people nearly enough time to begin to appreciate the power and superiority of your program.
(Words of knowledge form experience..)
I'm not bitching but it takes a certain type of person to want to spend more than a few hours to learn a program at least at the basic level. Most of the people I deal with on a daily basis are not at that level and don't want to devote the time.
No matter how great the product may be, to really get it to sell you must think like your lowest common denominator for the market that you are chasing or going after. You may really want to offer a longer trial period and or figure out a way to make some of your features easier (Dumbed Down) to use.

I do want to add Alex that I have used your products (NewsPro and then Usenet Explorer) when it was introduced since about 1998 (be kind as I am older and exact dates are a bit fuzzy) and they are the best Usenet binary download programs that I have ever used. I still wish that Usenet Explorer had the "find public/open servers function that NewsPro had. I had to re-download newsPro and reinstall it just for this feature. I let it run overnight once a month or so and I always find new open/free servers that help me fill in many missing parts "Especially" older Posts that have dropped off of other news servers. I would be very greatfull if you included that function back into Usenet Explorer.poma5 wrote:Alex,
