in fact there is no reason to do that.

if you want to perform full cleanup outside the program - exit the program and in the database directory delete everything except for the settings directory. then on restart invoke for the "newsgroups" entry in the workspace context menu -> advanced -> reset header ranges.

then if it matters edit menu->clear history.
