macintosh version in the future?

Post by bassie »

Will there maybe be a macintosh version in the future?

I have a mac-mini (and three windows machines :) )
The mac i prefer for surfing the internet (not useful for games etc.).
However the programs that are available for macintosh are not to good.
For example when a connection is lost to the server, it is not automatically restarted, and has to be done manually after i see it. I go away, come back, and see the download stopped.
No program with search service, and so on.

But maybe it is difficult just to translate it into a mac program?

Thanks,

Bassie

the UE project is too big with too much custom interface e.g. to accomodate fast huge lists with very fast update (even windows fastest virtual list control gave me delays when i was considering whether to use some standard solution).

so i didn't have enough time to make it cross-platform independent, i could only use some kind of generic windows independent code in internals.

but i think as to mac there are emulators? i sas something called microsoft virtual pc for non-intel based macs? also should be other emulators i think. UE is not demanding as to the system support so if there is an emulator it should work there, also since processor usage is so low there is some space for overhead brought by emulators without slowing things too much.

that might be an option indeed, an emulator.
Thanks for the hint.

Now i see it could be the program "crossover 6.1.0"

that should allow to run windows program. Next week i should try to get a working copy.

Why? There is much more choice of browsers for Windows pc's then for Mac's.
Try Maxthon browser, or Firefox, or Ie with Ie7propack or with Avantbrowser.

And use the Mac-mini just as design object in your house :-)
