Split parts starting with *.000

Post by cilob »

UE doesn't seem to recognize the first split part when it's marked with .000. Instead it starts joining the files thinking *.001 was the first part and then complains that the merged file is damaged.

Did I just miss some option for this or could this be fixed? Thanks.

can you give me a reference to such a post?

earlier versions of split files (mastersplitter) had "0" file which contained some information about the rest like the number of parts and the file size, but unfortunately the content differs when using different versions/split programs, so it is not clearly defined.

i mean if there is 0 file it is a mistake to prepend it.

is the zero file is the same size as .001 file? if it is small it means it contains all that unspecified information about the file.
