new system question

Im replacing my aging core 2 E6600 2 gig of ram with a core i7 950 with 6 gig ram, operating system win xp 32 bit to win 7 64 bit.

Can i just copy my usenet explorer map entirely to the new system will it work then or do i need to reinstall ? and if so how do i keep the group progress, i'd hate to figure some of the groups out all over again.

since the windows registry is only used to hold the database path, UE doesn't depend on the system, just point it to the same database (the parent directory of the settings/bodies/newsgroups... directories), if you have several systems intalled on the same computer you can use the same UE database on any of them.
