why the icon for nzb file is not the icon of ue?

Post by shak »

Hi there

For some reason when i associate nzb files with usenet explorer 3.3 x64 , it has the icon that there is no application associated for nzb files .

When i click it , it does open with usenet explorer but it doesn't have the icon of ue .

I'm using windows 7 x64

I know this isn't a big issue but how do it fix it ?

Thanks in advance!

There is a problem with executable compressor, it compresses also the icon which is supposed to be used for nzb files and there is no option to disable this behaviour.

You can download uncompressed executable here http://www.usenetexplorer.com/ue33reg64.rar it is twice bigger but the icon will be displayed correctly. Or you can tweak registry to use icon from e.g. from 32 bit UE version.

Did you check edit menu->properties->search/import associate with nzb files while the uncompressed version is at permanent location, since windows retrieves the icon from the executable.
