That was close...
I also went to Binnews for my daily "fix" of NewsPro information, only to find myself asked for logon (yes, I have Binnews acct) and after that inside EMPTY NewsPro forum! At the first moment I couldn't beleive my eyes, and it took me good 10 minutes of browsing through other forums until I realized they switched to "members only" forums and kicked out good old NewsPro forum. Many thanks to Alex and to Admin of this new NewsPro "home" for their quick response and effort to resume activity in this forum
Allow me just to express my strong disagreement with "barbaric" and uncivilized way in which admins of BinNews kicked us out, with no warning and no explanation. While I do find their service really usefull for quickly finding binaries that I'm interested in, I'm honestly getting sick and tired of their "elitistic" and self-centered point of view and daily bragging and singing the same tune that they are the best an only one worth of existence on the Internet. They act like they invented NNTP protocol and port 119. Sheeeshh..... Anyway, let them kids play their games, just keep 'em away from furniture...
My best wishes to successfull continuance of this great forum and the newsPro itself...

I was told the messages were still there (at least the newspro forum), they only have hidden messages prior to Feb, 27.
The reason is http://www.isonews.com and some other sites I'm not aware about (the site was 'moved' on Feb, 26, the original site was still running yesterday at http://66.201.243.170 but now it is gone too, I read yesterday some threads on the topic there), actually the owner was charged with selling cirumventional devices and not maintaining forum or usenet indexing and other cases were unrelated too.
If I were them given the situation I estimate I wouldn't do that (isonews had at least 20 times more registered users and the charges were not related also some news providers based in US do newsgroup indexing too - they would be first to be targeted - hopefully it won't happen - since they have tens of thousands of users), but you cannot take such choices for someone else. Several years ago my father had a critical cancer surgery and I refused to go to reservist army service that was scheduled at the same time, I spent a few weeks in a military prison some time later, but I feel good about taking the decision, I mean sometimes one gets into situations that are not 'legal' and it is justified, the system is frequently ignorant to say at least.
