How to save a .exe attachement ?

Post by zwaluw (second time) »

Hi,

I have downloaded a .exe file (excisting of partial messages).
These partial messages are not reassembled and I can't save the executable.
The only way to save the partial messages is by hand and they are all called name.part01.zl9 and overwriting each other.
The real name of the reassembled file should be name.part01.exe

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Thanks

maybe there was some problem with posting the attachments (e.g. posted software has a bug), when you save attachments manually there is an option to rename files automatically in properties->general, see combo boxes down to the right but then the question arises in what order you'll assemble them.

if you want point me the location of the post or save a couple of article sources and show here full headers with several starting lines of the bodies.

Please be very careful if your going to download *.exe files , they are a very popular way to introduce trojans into your computer . That file your working on sounds like a failure on someones part to post properly .

I did so and it worked fine, I only had to rename and reassemble them myself.

Your answer made me understand it wasn't done by NewsPro itself. So I looked further and discovered it was my FireWall (ZoneAlarm) that was preventing to save .exe files. So I think the problem is solved.

Thanks for your advise and help.

I know I have to be careful with executables and normally I don't download or execute them. But in this case I'm pretty sure it's trusty. (look to my respons to Alex as well)
Thanks for your advise en help.
