Hi,
I am sure there is a simple solution but it would seem that some of the text posts I do are not showing up on any of the servers I get my news feeds from.
Some messages post fine, some appear to post fine but just fail to show up on any of the servers I use including the one I have posted to (there are no error messages in the Task Manager).
I have even checked that the server I am posting to has the message that I am replying to on it.
All posts are quite small (ie. just text replies rather than multipart file posts) and it only happens with some replys, not all.
Any ideas
Cheers
RB
Some posts not showing up.
If you pressed the post button and then you see 'Success' to the left (or the same - no question sign in post menu->posted messages or in task manager) - the post was complete ok, now it is the server responsibility to add it to the newsgroup, some servers do it with delay. If posts don't get through at all - contact the server support, they should know, or post through another server.
Hmm, yeah I am coming to the conclusion that maybe it is the news servers that are causing a problem although I have tried with three different servers over 2 different news feeds providers.
The only other thing I can think of is that the message I am replying to has got corrupted headers so when the reply is posted the news servers do not know what to link it to / where to file it.
Cheers

Ensure also that you're not replying to a message which is crossposted to many groups, thus causing your reply to be crossposted. Some servers will not allow a crosspost to many groups but won't give any error when you post it.
Which servers are you posting through? Some of them give troubles when posting but return no error.
Also you may find that a message shows up if you Rescan headers instead of just getting new headers. This could be the case if the posting server adds articles out of order.

The cross posting is a good point although the original message was to me in this group alone.
I have tried posting to;
Multimedia-east.newsfeeds.com
new.100proofnews.com
It generally shows up as success in the status box by the post button but the message just doesn't appear. Many other messages do.
I now have two replys I cannot post to two different threads.
Ok one has now posted via cache.newsfeeds.com.
I know newsfeeds can be problematic with posts but this is usually with large posts. 100proofnews always copes with my binary posts.
The other reply has now expired as I have been trying to post it for around a week now.
I can understand news servers being a little problematic with large binary posts but with normal text posts seems a little strange.
I may try the rescan headers but there are a few hundred thousand for me to sort through as it is a high volume group I am posting to.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I have my default posting server set as Spamkiller and find that messages take only 5 seconds or so to appear there, and then in about 10 seconds they have spread to other servers (outside of Newsfeeds).
For binary posting I usually use Spamkiller or Goliath-East/West, or possibly Cache. I don't upload much, however.
