are you using v3.65?

there was a small issue before (email dated April, 7 so the version afterwards), when you invoked get new headers without opening newsgroup and it finished - the new headers weren't reset (i dont' remember exactly). In short it was fixed (noone noticed that in the past); before writing the reply i checked again all possible combinations for folders and separate newsgroups, all seems to be working properly.

also ensure properties->general, reset new headers on restart is checked.

yes, i use 3.65 version; i have tried more and don't mark "old" headers the newsgroups that are not on subfolder; the option properties->"general, reset new headers on restart" is checked...

also for partials newspro doesn't mark them old until they are complete - but only in case you open newsgroup without displaing incompletes and then make them visible.

also within the same session new headers will remain new.

do you invoke get headers (or auto get headers) before it happens or just you open a newsgroup and see new headers right away?

try to exlain exactly how to reproduce it, it should be all the same for all newsgroups, I checked all possible combinations (they are not many, only 3 cases - direct opening, get new headers and open while it is in progress, get new headers, cancel and open) and saw no problem.

and check the version number in help->about

I have mp3 newsgroups in MP3 folder and font newsgroups in FONT folder, many others don't have folder are on root "newsgroups" of newspro; i get new headers, when i finish i close with "reset new headers..."checked and the when i open, some newsgroups on newspro root, not in subfolder (not all, this it's strange!) are not reset; i have win 2000 server with sp3 and i confirm, my version it's 3.65...
sorry for my english

if you just reopen a newsgroup - newspro won't mark new headers old since e.g. you can reopen while downloading new headers, otherwise please answer the questions i asked in the previous post.
