I need to use http proxy to access the Internet.
How do I configure NewsPro for the same? Please help, with screenshots if possible

[Newbie]Need help with setting up proxy
in newspro the proxy is called the 'local proxy' (since it sits somewhere close, e.g. your organization when you access internet from inside it). newspro can also use access (dedicated) proxies on per server basis, e.g. you can setup a proxy on your company computer to access usenet provider which provides services to ip-range of your company.
here what you need to do to set a single proxy for all servers (local proxy)
open edit menu->properties->proxies. check 'local proxy', enter proxy parameters, if there is userid/password check the check the username/password check box below and enter them.
there is a server list to the right. select all the servers you want to use the proxy then check 'relay through local proxy' and press 'set'. you should see the green '+' sign in the local column for all servers.
from the said above it should be clear what is the meaning of every option.

another thing, if your company blocks 119 port but allows direct access to 80 or other port - some commercial newsservers for this purpose work on non-standard ports (80 for example).
if all goes through http proxy and the proxy doesn't support the CONNECT command there is no way to connect at all then.
i read your post on news.software.readers
"NewsPro - GetHostByName error (20002)"
NewsPro checks for aliases so it needs to resolve dns, try to put server numeric ip address - you can get it here http://netperformance.genuity.com/nslookup.jsp
then if it works (the proxy doesn't return error the command is not supported or like) you can leave the server names intact but put ip addresses in the Windows 'hosts' file (if you get until this point and don't know how to do it - ask again, just if they don't even allow dns server it is likely they also blocked CONNECT).
still, maybe you just mistyped the server name.
