1.
Which option do I need to tell NewsPro that program should wait with download until the binaries are compleet on my free server.
Most of the times binaries are direct ready to download from my payserver but my freeserver has some delay (1 hour but sometimes 2 or 3 hours)
At this time my freeserver has priority 10 STRICT
and payserver has priority 1
Yesterday i had download 1,5GB from my freeserver but he downloaded 675MB unnecessary from my payserver.
2.
Can I also disable download of par files?
I have try it with: Server properties --> Articles *.exe|*.com|*.bat|*.vbs|*.p
But he is still downloading .p01, .p02, .p03 etc.
I only want to download check par file (.par)
How can I also download only check .par2 withoud .par2 with bodies
3.
What is the meaning of option:
Server properties-->Tasks: Easy Tasks: Article bodies
A lot of questions, but hopefully you will be able to answer them.
Thank you for this beautiful program
One server is slower, how to correct that with NewsPro?
1. you can use retention to download headers from the payed server with 24 hour delay (e.g. set retention 2-), but it has its price in header bandwidth from the payed server, so you can just mark headers for later download (check task menu->suspend article tasks marked for later download) and when the headers arrived to the free server - remark the headers with higher priority or uncheck the option.
2. if you mark something for download manually newspro just downloads what it is told, properties->articles is only to prevent launch of attachments that may contain viruses (e.g. you mistakenly doubleclicked .exe attachment).
3. the article bodies edit box in properties->tasks is the max number of tasks to download article bodies, e.g. if you set it to 20 - at any moment there will be no more than 20 tasks in task manager->articles (tasks that download bodies).

Sorry but I can't find anywhere option suspend article tasks headers for later download.alex wrote:1. you can use retention to download headers from the payed server with 24 hour delay (e.g. set retention 2-), but it has its price in header bandwidth from the payed server, so you can just mark headers for later download (check task menu->suspend article tasks marked for later download) and when the headers arrived to the free server - remark the headers with higher priority or uncheck the option.
If I choose for the first option (payed server delay with 24 hour) does this mean that headers and bodies of messages will be downloaden from my free server (even if they are nog complete) and after 24 hours leftovers would be downloaded from my payed server to make .rar files completely? Is this the way it works?
Yes I know, but I am using NewsPro only to download automatically headers with bodies. Can I tell NewsPro don't download .p07, p02,p03 files etc. (except "check" .par file) but only .rar (if I set it to download automatically)?alex wrote: 2. if you mark something for download manually newspro just downloads what it is told, properties->articles is only to prevent launch of attachments that may contain viruses (e.g. you mistakenly doubleclicked .exe attachment).
the suspend option is in Tasks menu (the program menu on the top) the fourth option from the top.
for automatic download you can define a watch filter
.par|.p01 etc. wildmat 'Ban' you can try the filter on a newsgroup, the headers you don't want to download will be hidden, then if it is ok place it in the properties->watch pane for relevant newsgroups. you need to add the filter to every watch filter, since newspro just checks filters in order and the first matching filter will be used (so they all shouldn't match).
