How to accelerate the "save" option?

Post by xtrips »

Hello,

How can I reduce the latency that occurs between the end of the download of a file and the save action in the target directory?
Sometimes it can reach up to 2 minutes.

Thanks.

You can change the [autosave] value in the [general] tab in proberties.
Standard is 300sec (5 minutes). So worst case scenario, the file is ready to be saved in second 1, and you'll have to wait for 299 seconds

Personally I keep my AutoSave set to 600 seconds, but if i'm in a hurry to save the attachment of a recently-downloaded article (like a .NFO file for instance) I issue the "Scan AutoSave Tasks Now" [CTRL]-[ALT]-S command (from the Tasks|Autosave menu) - this immedately triggers the 'Save' function on any articles with attachments waiting to be saved.

i have a time span of 7 seconds.
So as soon it has downloaded it, very quickly it saves it. The advantage is i think that i have the files quickly and that the computer can handle it better. The computer can spread the working load.

What effect does having a large number of unsaved posts have on save speed ?

My FAT32 data directory currently has 5374 files, 1.19G, 2.00G size on disk.

Regards.
