Newsgroups (Help, Newb) :(

I'm new to the Usenet thing . I have giganews as my server and have set it up. But when I go to get the newsgroup list, nothing pops up. I forwarded all the proper ports and whatnot, so I'm confused.
In Workspace, Servers the little comp is Green with what looks like a lock (I assume that's the SSL). On Newsgroups, it's black with a red dot to the bottom right.

Help would be appreciated.

maybe you need to set port, check on their site which port they use for ssl (if you use ssl).

you can set it through workspace right click context menu ->advanced->rename to append the port number to the server name after colon or maybe easier to type the port directly in edit menu->properties->servers, the "port" edit box.

you can also see the error, in the task manager the red question sign pane, but if you try to connect to non-ssl server/port with ssl option checked you get timeout error, since non-ssl server writes first, with ssl newsreader it is newsreader.
